The past weekend has seen us gorge ourselves on chocolate and eat a years worth of Hot Cross buns in two days. Facebook certainly did not let me forget the reason for all the public holidays. I think it has something to do with a rabbit?!
Just kidding. In fact, the week that was has been one of reflection. Due to a lunar quirk we have ‘celebrated’ Easter and Anzac day in the same week. Two holidays to honour the sacrifices that have been made for our freedoms. Every Australian owes a great debt to our ANZACs but every sinner has had their un-payable debt paid by Christ Jesus. His death and most importantly his resurrection offers life to all who receive.
The work that he did on this earth cannot be recreated or dutifully reproduced but He called us to be servants and so I wish to thank all those who have answered his call. Our volunteer numbers have escalated such that it has been hard to keep up with the influx. BWNS is on track to deliver in our inaugural year.
We do still have a need for volunteers so keep those applications coming. We also have a very important position for someone out there who needs a project, specifically someone studying statistics/community service. At the end of this project we’re going to need to put together a report for our generous benefactors and partner churches. We need someone who has an idea of what they’re doing to help us collect and collate data, if that’s you please email Mim at firstname.lastname@example.org
If you’re out there thinking, ‘I want to serve’ but find yourself without the time to do so in person, please consider giving in other ways. Donations of toiletries such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, razors, feminine hygiene products, shampoo and conditioner will be gratefully received at 214 Hargreaves Street, please ensure they are clearly labelled for BWNS.
